![]() NREL: Biomass Energy Basics Biomass energy, or "bioenergy," is the energy from plants and plant-derived materials. NREL: Bioenergy and bioeconomy NREL's bioenergy and bioeconomy research team enables resilient, abundant, domestic energy supply chains and drives innovation across industrial and transportation sectors. World Bioenergy Association The World Bioenergy Association (WBA) is the global organization dedicated to supporting and representing the wide range of actors in the bioenergy sector. Our members include bioenergy organizations, institutions, companies and individuals. WBA promotes the sustainable development of bioenergy globally and to support the business environment for bioenergy. Biomass Power Association The Biomass Power Association works to expand and advance the use of clean, renewable biomass power, and represents 80 biomass power plants in 20 states across the U.S. American Biomass Energy Association The American Biomass Energy Association works to advance public policy that drives American energy independence through responsible and reliable energy sources. We partner with legislators at every level to reduce American dependence on foreign oil and lower greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to global warming. IEA Bioenergy IEA Bioenergy is a Technology Collaboration Programme (TCP) set up in 1978 by the International Energy Agency (IEA) with the aim of improving cooperation and information exchange between countries that have national programmes in bioenergy research, development and deployment. Technology Collaboration Programmes are independent bodies operating in a framework provided by the IEA. There are 39 currently active Technology Collaboration Programmes, one of which is IEA Bioenergy. Bioenergy Europe Bioenergy Europe aims to develop a sustainable bioenergy market based on fair business conditions. Founded in 1990, Bioenergy Europe is a non-profit, Brussels-based international organisation bringing together associations, companies, academia and research institutes from across Europe. European Biomass Energy Association EUBIA, the European Biomass Industry Association, was established in 1996 as an international non profit association in Brussels, Belgium. The organisation represents the interest of its members, SMEs, Research Institutes and Universities working on the field of biomass across Europe. EUBIA’s main objective is to support the European biomass industries at all levels, promoting the sustainable use of biomass as a source of energy and bio-based materials, developing innovative bioenergy concepts and fostering international co-operation within the bioenergy field. Advanced BioFuels Association The feedstock growers, producers, distributors, and marketers that advanced biofuels are members of the Advanced Biofuels Association (ABFA), the leading voice of energy innovators working to decarbonize transportation fuel. ABFA’s members create low-carbon fuels to protect the environment and ensure global energy security. ABFA members are committed to improving the efficiency of the global transport system, producing 50% of the nation’s aviation fuel by 2050, and helping America close the “electrification gap.” BioFuels Journal News & Information for the Ethanol and BioDiesel Industries Biofuel The definitive source of info on biofuels, bioproducts, biorefining biofuelwatch Biofuelwatch campaigns against the use of bioenergy from unsustainable sources. Ethanol Producer Magazine The world's leading ethanol trade publication and website. Biofuels International Learn more about biodiesel, bioethanol & biomass. |
